How our values guide our daily work
The European Central Bank works closely with national central banks and banking supervisors across Europe through the Eurosystem, the European System of Central Banks (ESCB) and the Single Supervisory Mechanism (SSM). While each institution has its own role, culture and practices, we share common objectives and face many of the same challenges.
The ESCB and SSM shared values charter provides a common foundation for how we work together across institutions and borders. Developed together with institutions, colleagues and staff representatives across Europe, it sets out four shared values:
