Prime Minister Karamanlis of the Hellenic Republic visits the ECB

Today, Kostas Karamanlis, Prime Minister of the Hellenic Republic, visited the European Central Bank (ECB). The Prime Minister was accompanied by Dora Bakoyiannis, Minister for Foreign Affairs, George Alogoskoufis, Minister for Economy and Finance, Theodoros Roussopoulos, Minister of State, George Provopoulos, Governor of the Bank of Greece and H.E. Tassos Kriekoukis, Greek Ambassador in Germany.

During this visit, the Prime Minister and his delegation met with Jean-Claude Trichet, President of the ECB, Lucas Papademos, Vice-President of the ECB and other members of the ECB’s Executive Board to discuss matters of mutual interest. Among the topics addressed were the financial market turmoil and current situation of the economy at the global level, as well as in the euro area and Greece.
