Monaco
There are currently three series of euro coins from Monaco in circulation.
The first series, issued in 2002, features Prince Rainier III on the €2 coin. The €1 coin shows a double portrait of Prince Rainier III and his son Prince Albert. The 50, 20 and 10 cent coins depict the seal of the Prince of Monaco, while the coat of arms of the Grimaldi House is shown on the 5, 2 and 1 cent coins.
The second series, introduced in 2006, features a portrait of Prince Albert II on the €2 and €1 coins. His monogram appears on the 50, 20 and 10 cent coins. The coat of arms of the Grimaldi House remains the main design on the 5, 2 and 1 cent coins.
The third series, introduced in 2025, shows a frontal portrait of Prince Albert II on the €2 and €1 coins. His monogram is shown on the 50, 20 and 10 cent coins, while the coat of arms of the Grimaldi House is featured on the 5, 2 and 1 cent coins.
